We Care assisted more than 10,000 people in the last year-- mostly through revenue generated by our thrift center. Much work remains to be done. Our list of future projects and needs is long and includes building affordable housing for low-income seniors and constructing a low-cost medical clinic for the people of Rhea and surrounding counties. We can't do it all alone. We are neighbors helping neighbors and depend on your partnership and support to continue moving forward.
We Cares mission is to serve the residents of Rhea County and the surrounding area by enabling people to help themselves. Recognizing that a free handout often confirms the recipient's feelings of unworthiness, the philosophy of We Care is to "offer a hand up, not a hand out".
