Rennovia is targeting production of high-value chemical products with established, multi-billion dollar markets. Our goal is to produce the same chemicals that are currently produced from petroleum, but to do so from renewable feedstocks at lower cost, with lower feedstock volatility, and by employing sustainable, low-carbon footprint, environmentally-friendly process technologies.
Rennovia's first products are adipic acid and adiponitrile, two important building blocks of functional materials including nylon-6,6, polyesters and polyurethanes. These materials are high-performance components of a wide variety of consumer end products including carpets, heat-resistant automotive parts, furniture, apparel, footwear, luggage, adhesives, and coatings.
Rennovia is targeting the production of drop-in renewable replacements for existing petrochemical-derived adipic acid and adiponitrile with identical downstream performance characteristics in all market applications.
Supplying our customers with existing chemicals, renewably-derived, will help meet consumer demand for green products with minimum new product qualification. Importantly, Rennovia will utilize readily-available bio-derived feedstocks already widely employed in industrial chemicals and materials production with no perturbation of the global food supply.

Over 90% of chemical manufacturing processes rely on chemo-catalytic technologies. Industrial catalysts accelerate chemical reactions, provide enhanced purity products, and enable large-scale production of many chemical products.
Rennovia is developing advanced chemo-catalytic processes for the conversion of bio-derived, renewable feedstocks to major-market chemical products. These processes are designed to be readily scalable and to employ standard chemical production and purification equipment. Rennovia’s process technology will integrate seamlessly with, and potentially employ, existing manufacturing assets.
As part of its core catalyst discovery and process optimization infrastructure, Rennovia employs advanced high-throughput screening technologies. High-throughput methods enable the synthesis and screening of tens of thousands of catalyst formulations, leading to novel functionality and greatly-shortened catalyst development cycles. Rennovia’s founding team members are world experts in high-throughput catalyst research, with a proven track record of commercial success.
In addition to catalyst discovery, Rennovia is scaling process technologies through lab-, pilot- and commercial-scale operation.
