What today is NORKOTE originally started in 1952 by Gil Burleigh as a manufactures representative of fire protective coatings. Dana Gillet started working for the Burleigh Corporation in 1979 and purchased the company in 1985. Since that time the company has focused on application and contracting side of the business. The early years found the company working a great deal with Asbestos Abatement Contractors replacing ACM with non asbestos containing material. We are currently 4 years into replacing ACM on 2 large office buildings in downtown Seattle. Retro-fit fireproofing continues to be a significant portion of our work load. In1987 the company took on the spray applied fireproofing for the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. It remains one of the largest and most complicated structural steel fireproofing jobs in the Pacific Northwest. We have continued to demonstrate our ability to multitask on large and small projects in several different states. NORKOTE, Inc. is now licensed in Alaska, Washington, Oregon & Nevada and has done large projects in Utah and Hawaii.

Most of our business is done with the same companies. We have a healthy balance of small, medium and large projects on going that keep experienced crews busy throughout the whole year. Our equipment is new and electric, which means quiet, green and reliable. Our people are trained to work clean and safe. Our office is well equipped to meet the needs of providing the administration that goes with doing both public and private projects. We work closely with architects and project management to provide budgets and value engineering.
