MORCO GEOLOGICAL SERVICES, INC
Morco Geological Services continues to be the leader in hydrocarbon gas detection and analysis in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico. Headquartered in Carlsbad New Mexico, Morco currently has a fleet of 22 modern computerized logging units staffed with a superior group of well trained and seasoned mudlogging technicians.
In 1974 John Morris moved his mudlogging operation from Utah to Carlsbad New Mexico and founded Morco Geological Services. Since then he and his wife Nelda built the company from a 2 unit operation to the fleet of 22 computerized mudlogging trailers currently operational. From the start Morco's focus has been on the quality of the services performed for the clients, and Morco continues to focus on quality today.
Morco, along with its Texas subsidiary Morco at Mortex, serves the Permian Basin. Morco has logged wells across Southeastern New Mexico including Eddy, Lea, Chaves, Otero, Roosevelt and Dona Ana Counties. In West Texas wells have been logged in Cochran, Yoakum, Gaines, Dawson, Borden, Howard, Martin, Andrews, Loving, Winkler, Ector, Midland, Glasscock, Irion, Reagan, Upton, Crane, Ward, Hudspeth, Culberson, Reeves, Pecos, Terrell and Crockett Counties.
Morco's mudloggers have experience logging from grass roots to granite, and over the years clients have chosen Morco to log their most important wildcat exploratory wells. Morco logged some of the first deep overthrust wells in Pecos County for Coastal Oil and Gas, Chevron and Hunt Oil. Fina chose Morco to log their deep overthrust well in Uvalde County, and in 1983 Morco logged a rank wildcat in Dona Ana County, New Mexico for Exxon Oil and Gas.
