Minder Air was incorporated in 1990, by owners Leonard and Janet Parker, for the sole purpose of providing Air Tanker Services. Since that time, the Parkers were able to grow Minden Air Corp from a one aircraft air tanker operation in to a multi-million dollar corporation with four aircraft and growing.
Minden Air’s commitment in 1990, as now, is to improve the level of technology and service in the industry. To accomplish this goal Minden Air established facility at Minden, Nevada, to provide a centralized maintenance and operational base. We maintain our facility in Tucson as a part and aircraft storage area as well as a staging base to support aircraft operations in the southwestern United States.
In addition to an exciting past, company’s future is highly anticipated. The P2V is a proven aerial firefighting asset, though aging airframes and resource scarcity has drawn its retirement near, and the need for a new platform is apparent. Under the foresight of Minden Air leadership, several years ago the company initiated plans to replace the P2V. To establish its place in the industry’s future, Minden Air embarked on plans to convert a BAE-146 into an air tanker. This project and proposed use of the aircraft has full approval of BAE Systems, the original aircraft manufacturer. When completed this aircraft will meet all of the most stringent FAA standards for fatigue life and damage tolerance. Additionally, the aircraft will have the full and continuing support of BAE Systems in parts, maintenance, engineering, and flight and maintenance crew training. With the project in its final stages, we will soon see the future of aerial firefighting
