Masik was founded by the Masich family to create a fine fragrance line for universities and colleges. Masik is the only company of its kind - creating distinctive fine fragrances that reflect each school's unique and distinguished character.
Katie Masich, President of Masik, wanted to create a fragrance line that people could connect with - a line that sparked a personal passion and an emotional connection. She thought about the existing fragrances on the market: celebrities, fashion houses, etc. She knew people connected with these fragrances; however, she desired to tap into a connection people experienced first-hand. And one day it hit her; What about the emotional connection to your college? Students, alumni and fans all have immense love for and loyalty to their colleges. It is a passion like no other and truly a love affair that lasts a lifetime.
Katie thought it would be a great idea to create an exclusive, high-end perfume and cologne for universities; each school having its own "signature scent". She saw this as a new and unique way for students, alumni and fans to celebrate and experience their collegiate passions.
She immediately called her parents, Carol and Jim, and brother, Andrew, and told them about her idea. They loved the concept. Carol suggested pitching the idea to Penn State University as the first school.
Katie and her family joined forces and, together, formed Masik Collegiate Fragrances(TM) and embarked on a journey to bring this unique idea to reality.
