INSTA-GRO maintains an ongoing program of research and development on Ohio farmland and an additional 2,700 acres in Canada. Soil tests are performed by three leading soil services in the U.S. enabling INSTA-GRO to formulate products to answer specific soil problems. INSTA-GRO serves farmers throughout the U.S. and Canada. In an effort to make marketing more personal, the product line is sold by farmers and distributors acting as independent representatives of INSTA-GRO.

INSTA-GRO liquid plant food, 9-18-9, 3-18-18, 5-15-15; 10-10-10, 5-20-5, 6-24-6, residue digester, and Pit and Lagoon Digester were formulated to to give plants the nutrients needed for maximum yields, by making the nutrients in soluble forms and adding INSTA-GRO's energizer for enhanced uptake of nutrients and a bigger root mass. INSTA-GRO is able to achieve this. These products have increased yields on millions of acres of farmland throughout the U.S. and Canada.

To meet the increasing needs of its expanding market in the Midwest; INSTA-GRO built a manufacturing plant in Caledonia near its corporate headquarters. Ground was broken in August, 1981 for the plant that officially opened in March. The facility, which measures 10,000 square feet, produces up to 300,000 gallons of plant food weekly.

The plant is equipped with a fully automatic computer scale that offers a better quality of control over the amount of raw ingredients that go into the finished product. The Caledonia facility is INSTA-GRO first fully automated facility. INSTA-GRO is gearing up for the 21st century.
