HEVO Inc (Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Optimization) is developing a rugged and versatile wireless charging unit, the HEVO Power Station, which is capable of being deployed as a sustainable infrastructure device in parking garages, parking lots, motor pools, city streets, highways and any other highly trafficked areas. The embeddable device will provide full interoperability and capability to wirelessly charge any Plug-In Hybrid or Electric Vehicle up-fitted with the corresponding wireless charging receiver. The wireless unit will be coupled with an accompanying mobile application, HEVO Mobile, that will provide mobile platforms like wireless bill pay, prior calendaring, mapping and guidance controls. The units will communicate via WiFi and be capable of instantaneously retrieving and storing valuable utilization data in a centralized server—along with providing immediate service, safety and vandalism controls.
HEVO Inc was conceived as a promise in Baghdad, Iraq during the peak of "The Surge." Jeremy McCool, founder and CEO, was a U.S. Army Infantry Platoon Leader for fifteen months from 2007 thru 2008 in the Mansour Security District—a volatile area north of the Green Zone. His unforgettable experiences in Iraq, coupled with daily revelations about the petroleum industry’s rush to secure oil rights from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, reshaped his perspective on the war. It was then that Jeremy committed to do everything in his power to prevent such an unfortunate tragedy from occurring again on behalf of the United States. This decision prompted Jeremy to move to New York City, enroll at the Columbia School of International and Public Affairs and develop a wireless concept while in graduate school that promotes the expansion of Plug-In Hybrid and Electric Vehicles throughout the United States as a method of energy security. From this, HEVO was launched while Jeremy was finishing his final semester at Columbia University. Jeremy's veteran status has allowed HEVO Inc to be established as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) which provides priority standing for government contract allocations. HEVO will be featured in an upcoming documentary, “The Burden,” that focuses on veterans working in all fields of renewable energy as a means of enhancing energy security in the United States.
