Company Summary


Haystacks was born 8 years ago on my dining room table. I just kept making pants and skirts until I could afford a great place to work. Every time I came across a location I liked, I rented it.

Today we have three Michigan stores which are located in Leland, Suttons Bay and Traverse City. We design and manufacture clothing and accessories for our retail stores at our design studio and cut and sew which are located in Suttons Bay, Michigan. Much of our fabric is printed for us in Los Angeles, and New York. Our Brazilian fabric has become one of our signature items. Two or three times a year we bring in a large quantity of fabric from our Mill in Brazil, which we then make into our most popular items, the Brazilian Textured Bias Skirt and Top.

Our Vintage line has continued to do well for us. We create many items using vintage trims and fabrics, such as our headbands, belts, and Vintage Skirts.

Our Jaipur Collection, is a line we design and have manufactured in Jaipur, India. The most popular item in the Jaipur Collection is the Bandini group, tunics and scarves dyed using the bandini technique.

Many of our designs start out as test items, they are put in the stores, and our sales staff monitor these items for fit and popularity. If we have items that are winners, we produce larger quantities, expanding the colors and prints.
