We have commercialized a proprietary technology for coating objects with well-known but difficult-to-process polymers. Such polymers include non-stick PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, TeflonĀ®), electrically conducting polymers, and others in development. Our dry initiated-Chemical-Vapor-Deposition (iCVD) technology is superior to traditional wet, high-temperature coating methods. GVD offers novel, solvent-free, low temperature, conformal coatings that boast an unprecedented combination of thinness, purity, and performance.
GVD was founded in 2001 to industrialize technology invented by Professor Karen Gleason at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Since inception, the company has successfully scaled-up and commercialized the PTFE coating process, and has pioneered new materials and applications with its customers.
We are uniquely capable of meeting the coating demands of many industries, including semiconductor, aerospace, defense, medical device, consumer products, and others. Our technology can dramatically improve product performance, and enable new products not achievable using alternative coating techniques.
Let's work together to create great products.
