Guyer Brothers Inc., a water and sewer line utility contractor located in New Enterprise, Pa started in business December of 1999. The company first started with the two brothers, Shawn and Kevin Guyer, and shortly thereafter their father Wendell Guyer became the first employee followed by Kurtis Horton. Kevin was the estimator and Shawn was the operator. The company started out with a JCB backhoe, a single axle dump truck, and a 9 ton trailer. Odds and ends of jobs created the company?s first financial promise for the future.They began bidding small jobs for local municipalities and surrounding areas. After a few successful jobs under their belts, they gradually kept growing enabling them to purchase more heavy equipment and trucks and by 5 years had a total of 8 employees to include an office assistant, Traci Guyer, Shawn?s wife.In the summer of 2006, the guys went outside their realm once again to do sitework excavation for the Bedford Springs Hotel Renovation Project. This enabled them to install the sewer and water line in front of the Springs.By the summer of 2007, the business moved into a more permanent office. The new office was built attached to the current shop so everything became more convenient. The business currently employs 20 to include Kevin?s wife Julie and also another estimator Fred Mellott in the office.With the continued hard work of our office management and employees, we can only hope the next 10 years will be as good as or better than the last. We realize it takes hard work and dedication to make a business successful and we feel fortunate to have what you might say is ?the pick of the litter!?
