Because we understand the needs of research animals Exemplar Genetics provides a robust program of care and established veterinary protocols. Each one of our facilities is PHS assured, FDA compliant and USDA approved.
Each Exemplar Genetics facility is accredited by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC). This private, nonprofit organization promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs. Our employees are active members of the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science, which has been dedicated to the humane care and treatment of laboratory animals since 1950. We also comply with the letter and spirit of the Animal Welfare Act.
Exemplar Genetics animal husbandry practices integrate a range of disciplines that include nutrition, health maintenance, disease prevention, environmental control, proper handling techniques, enrichment and sanitation. Due to the nature of our models we understand they may develop unique requirements, we are dedicated to ensure the proper veterinary programs to maintain their well-being.
