The Church began because a mission – minded lady and man by the names of Miss Alice Nix and Mr. Jess Erwin loved lost children. They listened to the voice of the Lord and together built a little mission in the year 1946, located in the Sonoraville-Fairmount area. In the early 1960′s the Lord sent Bro. Robert V. (Sammy) Allen to the mission. One Sunday after the service, Bro. Allen went home with the superintendent of the mission, Bro. Hubert Goss and his family for lunch. In the afternoon as Bro. Allen was praying, the Lord burdened him that the mission was to be constituted into a Missionary Baptist Church
