Since 1916 Cannon Sline has lead the corrosion control services industry by being consistently both agile and dependable
Agile - Marked by ready ability to move with quick, easy grace. Mentally quick and resourceful, nimble, spry, deft, vigorous, sure-footed, spirited, supple, dexterous, rapid, active, ready, alive, energetic.
Dependable - To place a reliance or trust. To rely on, for support, being reliable, trustworthy and being determined.
Cannon Sline's core business is to provide complete painting, specialized coatings/linings and related services to our industrial customers on a national basis. Our focused skills specialties are coatings and corrosive control disciplines which require a high degree of technical expertise and execution experience.
Born in the nuclear age, Cannon Sline's Quality Assurance Program has been and is a leader in the most stringent of protective coating arenas. They have long known that one of the fundamental duties of management is to assure that our services meet requirements.
Cannon Sline's Management understands the cost of quality deviations (rework) and has said many times "unquestionably the first step of productivity is Quality". Cannon Sline knows well the cost of quality. Their pro-active management has chosen the path of prevention
and appraisal over that of correction of deviations.
We are committed to safeguarding the health of our employees, providing a safe work environment and supplying our customers with the highest quality services possible.
At Cannon Sline Industrial our highest priority is to foster a culture that instills a sense of pride and duty to protect the health and welfare of every employee, and everyone we associate with, during the course of our business activities. Management at all levels must demonstrate leadership in teaching employees the attitude, technical knowledge and behavioral expectations required to keep them safe during performance of the work. Every employee is trained to be observant and opportunistic - to identify,
evaluate and take action to prevent unsafe acts or conditions.
Cannon Sline Industrial has established programs to comply with applicable laws and regulations, control the release of hazardous materials, properly handle waste materials and stop the installation of any material or the execution of any work operation where the health, safety or environmental exposure is unacceptable.
Training is the foundation of our Safety, Environment and Health process. We begin with the constant reinforcement of our injury-free philosophy to managers and supervisors.
In addition to our 52-module weekly training program we have several seminars and conferences throughout the year. Some of the topics for those formal sessions include:
SE&H Performance Measures and Targets
New or Modified Policies and Procedures
Risk Management Initiatives
Applicable Laws, Rules or Regulations
Behavioral Safety Workshops
Providing safe and environmentally sound construction services must begin with a proactive approach to identifying hazards and mitigating risk. To that end, there are two valuable processes in our SE&H program that we use to manage risk and protect people and assets.
1) The Job Hazard & Risk Analysis (JHRA) is a proactive tool that is implemented
prior to start of work. It is used by each work crew to identify the work steps
and associated hazards, and the methods set in place to eliminate or control the hazards.
The JHRA is a "mandatory" element of our work process and is considered the cornerstone of our safety program
2) The K2 Audit Risk Rating System (KARRS) is used as a key observation tool during performance
of the work. The objective is to continuously evaluate the level of risk our work presents
and confirm that safe behaviors and safe conditions are being maintained. Key SE&H
"Performance Indicators" are measured by the KARRS Program with feedback provided by
the reporting metrics. All employees are held accountable for working safely, within established
KARRS risk tolerance levels
These two Programs are embraced at all levels of the organization to proactively identify hazards,
evaluate risk, and eliminate unacceptable levels of risk in our daily work.
