BAL was founded in 1979 to bridge the gap between the defense industry and the U.S. Army, primarily in its equipment development process. Today, BAL has expanded its expertise to include a full range of services as well as adding significant capability in all military Services and a majority of Federal Agencies. These include: Naval and Marine Corps; Air Force; Military Space and NASA; Transportation, including FAA and Intelligent Transportation Systems; Intel Agencies, including DNI, CIA, NRO, DIA, NSA, NGA, etc; Homeland Security, including Coast Guard, Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs; Veterans Affairs and other governmental departments and agencies (e.g. Departments of State, Education, Health and Human Services, and Treasury). Since its inception over 30 years ago, the company Associate base has grown to nearly 800 experienced Associates. In addition, the company has established a robust management team and active headquarters operation on the edge of the Washington, DC metropolitan area in Bethesda, Maryland.
