It's one thing to say that children are the future and another thing to help them be the future. Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove has grown through the past five decades to meet the special needs of the children and families in our community.
Currently, we administer five school-age centers year-round: Main Branch, Edgar Branch, Stanford Branch, Patton Branch, and Clinton Branch. These sites serve more than 1,200 boys and girls (5 -17 years old) every day, from 7:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Evening and weekend activities are provided for teens.
School IMPACT Programs (Innovative, Meaningful Partnerships to Advance Children & Teens) proudly collaborate with Garden Grove Unified School District at forty-eight additional school sites serving over 6,000 students daily to provide School Age Enrichment Programs.
Family involvement is critical and this is where Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove adds another dimension to its services. Our Family Campus Preschool provides licensed toddler and preschool childcare for more than 100 children daily, as well as early learning programs for the entire family.
Our partnership with Children's Hospital of Orange County, Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County, and The Children and Families Commission of Orange County brings needed pediatric medical, vision, and dental services to children.
BGCGG offers the ARCHES (Access to Resources for Children's Health, Education and Support) Program at the Children's Health Center focusing on family support and provides extensive referral service within the facility or to qualifying programs throughout the entire county. ARCHES enhances and complements the traditional children's health service delivery model by expanding services to ensure that the needs of the whole child are met. The ARCHES office also offers Child and Family Counseling, and pediatric vision care in collaboration with The Southern California College of Optometry.
Families can also come to us when they are in crisis, through our FYOP (Family & Youth Outreach Program) services located at Garden Grove's Juvenile Justice Center and the Truancy Reduction Center at Hare High School. These programs offer daily professional interactive guidance for struggling students and are designed to accommodate the special needs of our community. The programs offer a referral program, truancy reduction services, parent education classes, family support, juvenile offender education, drug education, and individual and family counseling.
We provide much more than quality supervision at an affordable cost; character-building, education, and enrichment opportunities are recurrent themes in all of our core programs. Orange County (central O.C., specifically) leads the nation in the need for care for children, as dictated by the high cost of housing, the large percentage of single-parent families, and the increasing number of immigrant families. Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove is a leading advocate for quality programs to meet this critical need.
We realize that our role is important in today's world, because families truly depend on us to take an active part in their children's lives. Now, more than ever, the children of our community and their families are in need of additional support to help kids succeed in life. Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove is a leading advocate for quality programs to meet this critical need.
In all our size and complexity though the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove has never lost sight of its precious mission...
To enable all young people to reach their full potential ...especially those who need it most.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove is a proud member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which serves more than 4.5 million children at over 4,300 club locations in the United States and abroad.
