The U.S. Air Force ultimately plans to contract for the development and procurement of up to 179 tanker aircraft.EADS North America also is a major contractor to the U.S. Army, having been chosen to supply the service's new UH-72A Light Utility Helicopter (LUH). Under terms of a contract awarded in June 2006, EADS North America has begun delivering up to 345 aircraft with a potential total program life-cycle value of over $2 billion. The Light Utility Helicopter also was selected by the U.S. Navy as the rotary-wing aircraft for its Navy Test Pilot School, which received a total of five H-72A versions. As of July 2010, 125 aircraft had been delivered for operation by U.S. Army and Army National Guard units - all of which were provided on time and on budget.
