When we first moved into our home, our thought was to convert the garage into an apartment for my father. He lived with us and was very important to our family. He witnessed my love for printing from a young age.
Starting at the local newspaper, I quickly realized that I found my niche. After 18 months, I had an opportunity to join Indiana Stamp, where Custom Label originated. There, I learned the many aspects of flexographic printing and worked my way up to Production Manager. After seven years working at Custom Label, I realized that I wanted to have my own printing business where I could use my passion to explore new avenues of flexographic printing.
With one child at home, and another on the way, I expressed my desire of having my own labeling business. My father, wife, and partner beside me, we purchased a press and set it up in our one car garage. In 1987, Accu-Label had begun with a vision for the future of label-making. The strong support of my family and friends was evident from the very beginning. Starting a business was anything but a small task, yet it quickly grew into a way of life. Quality and service was the cornerstone of our business.
Our desire and ability grew, it was evident that the garage could no longer support our capacity. In April of 1989, the company moved into a bigger facility in Huntertown, Indiana. Here we invested in additional presses and hired new associates and the "Accu-Label family" grew alongside my family. It was in 1996 that our further expansion took us to our current facility.
